The Triumph Baptist Federal Credit Union was organized February 1974 in the old Church building. The organizers were the late Steve Beauford, President, Ruby Boatwright, Vice-President, Rose Battie, Treasurer and Ronald Rembert, Secretary.
The Credit Union was fully established in a matter of six to eight months.
The major reason for the Credit Union being organized was to provide low interest loans to its members and to have an institution to save.
The Credit Union had a major delay when the church burned down in February 1978. There was no church building at the time for the Credit Union to conduct business, so wherever service was held on Sundays, the Credit Union operated business as usual. The organizers stayed focused on the dream.
Although we have had many ups and downs, our Credit Union has survived. The last years has been a testimony and we thank God for each blessing.
We also would like to thank the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA), National Federal of Community Development Credit Union (NFCDCU), National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Credit Union National Association(CUNA), Service Center for Credit Unions (SCCU), and all previous and current volunteers for their support.
The Credit Union would also like to thank our "Members" for their support. We need your continuous prayer and support.
We thank God for giving the vision to our Pastor, James S. Hall, Jr. and allowing us to celebrate the services extended to our "Members."
Triumph Baptist Federal Credit Union, your credit union, continues to live the credit union mission to provide excellent service to you, our members. The volunteers and Board of Directors remain committed to providing product and services which will help improve the standard of living and teach you how to be good financial stewards.
The board with the member as a focus will continue encourage our youth and young adults to save. Financial literacy will continue to be our number one goal, teaching our members the importance of saving.
To complement your lifestyles, we have Share Drafts (checking accounts), American Express Travelers Cheques which you can purchase to take on your vacation and American Express Gift Cheques which make great gifts for special occasions. If your plans only include local travel, you can now purchase Septa tokens at your credit union. Also, for added convenience, our members who receive regular Federal payments (e.g. SSI, tax refund) or a Payroll check can now elect to have payments electronically deposited into their credit union account. Direct deposit to your savings accounts and payment on your loan account is also available.
These are only a few of the products and services now available through your credit union. To hear more about what we're doing for you, stop in soon to visit Your Credit Union.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers!
